TALENTS
Every member in The House is a Saint who is being equipped for ministry (Eph 4:12) and mission: elders, deacons and members. There should be no member in a church who only receives ministry. Those are sojourners or unbelievers. The House believes in the priesthood of all believers – this means that every believer is being built together by God to minster as a priest to God, to the church (1 Peter 2:1-7, Gal 6:10), and as a missionary to the world (Matt 28:19).
Natural Talents & Spiritual Gifts:
Out of Gods common grace, He gives talents to all people. Since we are created in His image and likeness (Gen. 1:26-27) all people possess at least one aspect of His abilities in a very limited and incomplete manner. When we become Christians, He gives us a special means of grace called spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12; Eph 4:7-16; 1 Pet. 10-11). While the two differ, they can both be use to reflect His character and extend His kingdom. Oftentimes, our natural talents and spiritual gifts complement each other to give us unique ministry opportunities.
Take a look at the Servant Teams page for areas where you can use your gifts and talents within The House.
