TIME
“They devoted themselves to… “ (Acts 2:42)
Christianity is about wholehearted devotion to God. It is the natural response of someone who has been rescued by the grace of God to devote their whole life to glorifying God (1 Cor. 10:31). This includes seeing God glorified in the way they steward their time.
It is easy within the western world to feel stressed out with so many things competing for our time. The bible tells us in Eph. 5:15-17 “See then that you walk carefully, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”
According to the bible there are a lot of evil things at work within life that are trying to distract us from giving our time to the will of God. A foolish man gives into those distractions while a wise man invests his time carefully into the biblical priorities of personal, communal, and societal transformation.
How do you invest your time growing in your personal relationship with God? Is your family and church community a priority of the investment of your time? Are you seeking to work out your faith in a way that brings the hope of Jesus to our society?
At The House we recognize that stewarding our time wisely is a challenge, and that committing to everything is unhealthy, but lazily not committing ourselves to that which will help us grow in the gospel personally, communally, and socially is just as detrimental. So get involved with your time where you can at The House, join us on our Sunday gatherings, think about getting connected through a gospel community and perhaps even join a Servant team.
